A VERY WINDY WAKEFIELD

I've just got back from a few days visiting my bestie in Leeds. I got such a cool vibe from Leeds, everyone dresses cool, there is cool architecture and there are so many cool bars and restaurants - I can NOT believe I haven't been up earlier! 

I've had an interest in art and specifically sculpture for quite a while now so visiting the Hepworth art gallery whilst "up north" was a must! The building itself is incredible and the sculptures inside are pretty ace too, so I'd 100% recommend if you're ever in the Leeds area! 

Whist there I did a quick shoot with my friend for my uni work so I thought whilst I had such a cool background why not kill two birds with one stone! 

I recently bought these pants from ZARA, they're tailored ankle grazers which I think are perfect to be styled from slouchy to going out out.. I've had my eye on a pair on ASOS for a while so when I spotted these in ZARA I had to take the plunge! I think they would look so cool paired with a slouchy tee and a leather but because it was blimmin' freezing I had to wrap up warm, therefore I paired it with a simple grey jump and my ASOS faux shearling jacket and my NIKE trainers - Casual sunday attire!

INNER PARISIAN...I WISH

Sorry for the lack of posts over the past week, I  have been feeling like crap. I had the most horrid cold, it just drained everything out of me, all I wanted to do was sleep, and have a "The 100" binge,  but today i'm feeling a lot more human hence back to the blogging schedule. 

Once again, all black err'thaaang. I'm not a fan of a skin tight silhouette so the boxy shape this outfit makes is a big hit with me. The jumper is a Mango sale purchase, I love the oversized feel it gives, its VERY thick so nice and cosy for winter. It also has ridges which again adds to the oversized feel of the look. Paired with a leather skirt and brogues = simple, easy yet chic. 

I'm really inspired by parisian chic, everything is so simple yet it looks so pulled together. 

Anyway, back to uni work for me - 8 weeks to go until the end! Wish me luck!

ASOS WITH A LITTLE TOPSHOP

Lets get back to some fashion shall we. 

As much as I love a winter wardrobe, I'm not quite as fond of the weather, gloomy Liverpool student live is very much the mood of the photo! EW!

Only 10 weeks to go, then i'm off flying for the summer, I am so excited to get some travelling under my belt and whilst earning money for my Australia trip, what more can I ask for!? 

When i'm styling, I always think parisian/rocker/gentlewoman..I love minimal styles, and having the ability to invest in pieces that will carry me over from season to season is really a big thing for me. I'm the first to admit that i'm really not a "trend" follower..

This outfit is a perfect example of this! I LOVE this Asos strip vest, its not the conventional vest shape, it's slightly more boxy which I am a big fan of. Sadly, I didn't get to wear this much over summer because it was FREEZING, but i've found a way of taking this piece through to winter and that is by layering it over a simple polo neck top. This one is again from Asos, but i've seen identical ones in primark for pennies! (more fool me) 

I'm living for black on black at the moment so I obviously paired these with my black Topshop Leigh jeans, paired with my Topshop point boots..So there it is! Topshop X Asos simplicity!

On a new note - how amazing is Zayn's Song - CAN NOT stop listening to it!

Simplistic Stripes//

I have been super inspired lately by Pinterest, I tend to pin very simplistic, minimal looks as that is where I am aiming to take my wardrobe. I want to invest in pieces that are timeless that I'm able to reuse and re-jig season after season. The Parisians have totally nailed this ethos, so I tend to search "Parisian Fashion" or "French Fashion" and needless to say a lot of stripes, black, and leather tend to appear.

I recently did a little bit of Asos shopping and picked up this striped top, paired with black jeans, and loafers create a totally effortless look. As this is England we are talking about... a jacket, or cardigan is an essential, so again think simple. Duster coats and trench coats work beautifully with simple pieces, finalising the effortless chic the Parisians do so well.

In terms of make-up, again less is more so for this look it's just a quick sweep of mascara and eyebrows and your set..

In other news, I have become stupidly obsessed over "Dance Moms." How amazing is that show?! The bitchy-ness is on a whole new level..it' great!

I've also started getting my goodies for my holiday next week, i've been watching lots of "What's in my travel bag" on YouTube, and making lists..It's all very exciting! 

QUAY - about last night - Sunglasses!

If you follow me on twitter you'll know i've had a strong urge for another pair of sunglasses, and especially the QUAYxSHAY.

I am in LOVE with Quay sunglasses, they offer such a varied range of sunglasses that really do offer everything, from minimal chic to retro..they honestly do everything!

I've had my eye on a pair from the range they did with Shay Mitchell ( Emily from PLL ) who just happens to be a huge babe..mini girl crush going on here..but I just haven't seen them being stocked on any UK websites which is a total sucker. 

Instead, I chose these bad boys. I spotted them on Asos for £22 and I had to purchase! These are the "About Last Night" style, they are soo different to any sunglasses that I already own and the blue reflective lens just sold it for me! 

Asos do stock a small selection from Quay, but from what I can tell they often change which styles they do sell. Which can be a bugger, for instance these are no longer on the website but you can get them straight from Quay here.

I am quite the sucker for a tortoise shell print on sunglasses. I think they really compliment my skin tone - especially when I have a tan! 

As the sunny weather has buggered off and we're back to wind and cloud i've not really had much of a chance to test out the UV/Sun Blocking they provide, but I did wear them yesterday when we had a brief snippet of sunshine and they provided excellent blocking from the sun - good news!

How cool is the reflective lens - I love these and will certainly be getting my use out of these this summer!!

Is it spring yet?

Ok, so its official...Uni swallowed me whole and left me no time to keep up with blogging, buuut after taking a browse around the blogosphere, I realised actually I really enjoy blogging and it is something I am really passionate about - why I let it slip I will never know. Slap on the wrists for me!

But back on topic eh?! Is it spring yet, this winter has d-r-a-g-g-e-d! I am not a great lover of winter as it is, but holy moly this one has been never ending! I am so ready for spring, warm weather, cold drinks the lot. Dreaming of summer is honestly getting me through deadlines! I have so many at the moment, with my second year at Uni fast coming to an end - Which is very scary, only one more year until I'm in the big bad world of employment! AH!

  As you may already have noticed, a few things have changed about me since I last blogged. Firstly, my severe lack of tan - BOO! Also my hair, it is now a lot shorter and brown. My hair whilst blonde always strayed off course to an orange shade, which drove me mad. Its probably because of the many years of dying my hair and that one not so clever time I decided to dye my hair brown/red ( I blame Rihanna for that one) so with all that in mind, I wanted to take my hair back to basics and got the chop around november. Whilst there is still a small amount of dye in my hair the majority is my natural colour so I plan of getting my blonde on again soon..

To start of the weekly posts that WILL be coming is a quick look I pulled together. During winter, I am a stickler for leather, leather and more leather. I think its effortlessly chic, and can be styled in so many ways to create the perfect look. Here i've paired my River Island leather skirt, with a H&M basics striped top, my favourite ASOS pointed chelsea and my Mango Celine-esq bag. I'm not a big jewellery girl, although I wish I was...but i've put on my Mulberry silver clasp to complete the look. I love the way silver jewellery is so versatile, and doesn't have to break the bank to look classy.

I  have not quite got to grips with my tripod so apologies for the lack of shoe in the first image - who knew they could be so confusing! I am going to be really committed with my posting in the coming weeks and months and really am ready to fall back in love with blogging. 

I am hoping to set up a new twitter for my Candidly Chloe blog in the next few days, as currently it is linked with my personal account so its about time to sort that - I'll be sure to let you know when that's going live!
